What You're Actually Paying For

At $469 a month for four 50-minute lessons. This works out to roughly $117 a session. That sits above the typical independent instructor rate in Austin, and it should. The lesson hour is only part of what you get.

The rest is the community programming, which competitors either don't run or charge extra for, and the fact that your teacher is a working performer with 100+ shows a year behind the advice. A cheaper hour with a career instructor who hasn't played a room in a decade is a different product, not the same one at a discount.

If budget is the constraint, the honest recommendation is usually the 50-minute biweekly tier over the 30-minute weekly one. Fifty minutes twice a month gives room to work through a song and its theory in one sitting; thirty minutes weekly gets tight once tuning, review, and recap eat into it.

Community programming: $0

The Sessions, Songwriting Circles, and Jam Sessions are included with every subscription at every tier. There is no upgrade path where you pay more to attend, and no minimum months before you're welcome.

Pricing Questions

Which plan do most students pick? expand_more
The 50-minute biweekly plan at $300 a month is the most popular. It gives enough room in a session to cover both technique and theory while keeping the monthly cost lower than weekly lessons.
Is there a contract or a sign-up fee? expand_more
No. It is a month-to-month subscription with no sign-up fee. You can change tiers or cancel without penalty, which matters because life gets busy and nobody should be locked into something they have stopped using.
What is included beyond the lesson itself? expand_more
Free access to The Sessions, Songwriting Circles, and Jam Sessions, plus a detailed written recap after every lesson. Remote students also get a video recap of each session, and in-person students get jam time with drum tracks and real amps.
Do online lessons cost less than in-person lessons? expand_more
No, the rates are the same. Online lessons run the same sequenced curriculum and add a video recap of every session, so the value is equivalent even though the room is different.
Is 30 minutes enough for a beginner? expand_more
For most kids under about ten, yes, attention span is the limiting factor, not content. For adults, 50 minutes is usually the better value because there is time to work on a song and unpack the theory behind it in one sitting.
What happens if I miss a lesson? expand_more
Give as much notice as you can and we will look at rescheduling within the same month where the calendar allows. The specifics get covered on your free consult so there are no surprises.
